The beloved daughter of Shirley Rodger, Christine Schneider, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.
Christine was born Feb. 4, 1957, to Larry and Shirley Rodger in Anchorage, Alaska. Both of her parents worked for the Federal Aviation Administration. She grew up in Alaska alongside her two brothers and experienced the 1964 Great Alaska Earthquake.
Christine graduated from Diamond High School in Anchorage and attended college in Edmonton, Canada. She was a member of Covenant Players, a traveling Christian drama group. While she was a part of that group, she met her husband, Daniel Schneider. He was a native of Canada who worked as the DJ at the local roller rink. They were married in 1986.
Christine always had a creative side. For over 20 years, she owned “Catchit Creations,” a jewelry store in Alberta, Canada, that specialized in beadwork. She became well-known for crafting unique pieces of jewelry that perfectly matched her younger clients’ prom dresses. She also designed and created sports souvenir jewelry for children, which she sold at provincial and international sports venues throughout Canada and the United States.
Christine and her husband operated a Christian evangelism traveling ministry program that featured puppets and action songs. She taught drama to disabled youth and worked as a sign language interpreter. She shared her talents with schools and church camps, even taking her skills abroad to Ukraine and Russia.
She and Daniel moved to Yelm, Washington, in 2009. She sold Miche Bags and was a Pampered Chef consultant. She was passionate about fundraising for cancer research through the “Relay for Life.”
Christine was preceded in death by her husband, father and two brothers, Brian and Lee. She is survived by her mother, Shirley Rodger.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Prairie Baptist Fellowship, 17525 WA-507, Yelm, WA 98597.
In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent to Prairie Baptist Fellowship Ukraine Mission Fund.
