Just two games into the 2026 season, the River Ridge volleyball team has already matched its 2025 win total and surpassed its amount of sets won.

The Hawks topped Tenino 3-1 (25-13, 25-19, 15-25, 25-13) at home Tuesday night for their first win under new head coach Arianna Jacobson. In its three set victories, River Ridge won by an average margin of 10 points, including 25-13 wins in the first and fourth sets.

Ny’zriae Collins-Howard produced 10 kills, two aces and four digs, while Kristina Stupina dished 25 assists, two kills and two aces. Sa’riyah Nance added six kills and five blocks, and Alexis Hively stepped into the middle position and provided six kills and one ace. Gabriela Faria contributed a pair of aces.

“We had long-serving runs, solid serve reception and some plays in tempo with our hitters,” Jacobson said. “Thank you to our fans who came to support. We couldn’t do it without you.”

River Ridge (1-1) won just one game all of last season and earned four set victories in 18 games. The Hawks have won five sets in their first two games, as they took Black Hills to five sets last week.

River Ridge will host Mount Tahoma Thursday night, while Tenino (0-1) will head to Mossyrock that same night.
