South Pierce Fire & Rescue is an integral part of the local community, providing fire protection services to a large area spanning 140 square miles.
With three staffed stations and a minimum of six firefighters per day, they are doing their best to keep the community safe. The past six years, they have worked for $1.13 per $1,000 of the $1.50 per $1,000, approved by the citizens six years ago.
They are not asking for a new tax, only the approval to increase the amount paid by the citizens back to the previous approved $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value.
If not approved, this could result in endangered response times and service levels. It is essential that this measure is passed to ensure the local community and its residents are kept safe.
