Barbara Jean Kiourkas, of Yelm, Washington, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on February 17, 2024.
She was born in Tacoma, Washington on June 17, 1957 to Happy John Ryan and Violet Mathew.
She met David Kiourkas Sr. when she was 16, they had a immediate, steadfast bond. They married and began their adventure of life in 1973. Together they raised five children, David Ryan, David Kiourkas Jr., Tim Kiourkas, Amy Bell and Ashely Kiourkas.
Barbara brought much spark and inspiration to everyone around her. She was a loving, caring mother and her family brought her much joy and pride. She began her career as a CNA, also working on a local dairy with her husband David, but her passion was at the center of her home, raising her children and for many years watching her grandchildren as they grew.
Barbara and David celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2023. Their marriage was a pillar for friends and family. They loved creating many holiday memories with their loved ones and going on many camping adventures with their RV around Washington.
Barbara will always be remembered through her friends and family for her warm and caring spirit.
She is survived by her husband, David Sr. Kiourkas; sister, Debbie Gardner; sons, David Ryan, David Kiourkas Jr. and Tim Kiourkas; daughters, Amy Bell and Ashley Kiourkas; grandchildren, Tim, Alisha, Amber, Amanda, Katie, Emily, Ethan, Sadie Ann and Kalie; great-grandchildren, Aryia, Bryan, Leon, Amelia, Oakley and Olivia.
