City of Tenino Announces Metal Art Contest Winners

The City of Tenino on Monday announced its art commission and judges voted on various metal art contest submissions, 18 of which will be turned into banners.

Several submitted pieces were not selected because they were similar to other submissions, and the competition was high in those categories of train engines, Oregon Trail wagons and wolves, the city stated in a Facebook post.

“These turned out incredible, way beyond my expectations,” Mayor Wayne Fournier said of the designs.

Pieces were required to be created with clean black lines without floating images, meaning all lines must connect back to the frame. When completed, the metal banners are set to be 25 inches long by 52 inches tall.

Winning submissions came from Veronica Haworth, Marilyn Murch, Wendy Davis, Maria Friedrich, Lynn Carey, Lindsay Taylor, Adam Barr and, in the youth submission category, Ash Stone.

Barr’s “Stone Carver” won the highest score from all the judges.
