Posted

The Nisqually Valley region will see the Easter Bunny make its rounds through the area on Saturday, March 30, as a plethora of Easter egg hunts and events are scheduled in honor of the holiday.

American Legion

The third-annual American Legion egg drop is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 30 at the field behind the post location, 16733 103rd Ave. SE, Yelm. The event will feature different family-friendly Easter activities, along with food and drink vendors to keep participants warm. A variety of shopping vendors will be present on site, as well.

The helicopter drop will feature two age groups for participation at the event. In 2023, “Dan the Pilot” dropped 10,000 eggs onto Sam Brewer Veterans Memorial Field during the event. In addition to the egg drop, an extra 18,000 Easter eggs were supplied and poured out of a dump truck outside of the field for participants to collect as they left.

We Love Rainier WA

We Love Rainier WA’s 10th annual Easter egg hunt is also scheduled for March 30. The organization will assist Mr. E. Bunny in filling and hiding over 14,000 eggs at Wilkowski Park, 102 Rochester St. E, Rainier. The eggs will be filled with candy or prize tickets.

The annual hunt at Wilkowski Park will begin at 2 p.m. and will feature six different age groups for separate Easter egg excursions. Children 1 to 3 years old are scheduled for 2:15 p.m., while 4- and 5-year-olds are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Children ages 6 to 8 will hunt for Easter eggs at 2:45 p.m., while ages 9 to 12 will start at 3 p.m.

Teenagers between 13 and 17 will have their turn to seek out Easter eggs at Wilkowski Park at 3:15 p.m., and adults will conclude the hunt at 3:30 p.m. The event is one of 10 fun and free family-friendly events hosted by We Love Rainier in 2024. The non-profit organization has posted a GoFundMe and seeks donations to be able to continue offering these cost-friendly events.
