MONTESANO — Tenino’s Sam Hill won the race to help lead the boys team to a title at the 1A Evergreen League championship cross country race here on Thursday.

Hill completed the race in 17 minutes, 47 seconds. Teammate Drew Hart finished fifth in 18:34 and Braxton Williams rounded out the Top 10 in 19:07.

Christian Cregg placed 13th in 19:23 and Toby Suess earned 14th in 19:59. Clayton Oldfield finished 16th in 20:16 and Nathaniel Wood took 17th in 20:57. Easton Snider finished inside the Top 20 in 21:19.

The Beavers had 37 points to earn the team title. Forks finished second with 50 points.

In the girls race, Tenino’s Katie Snyder placed third with a time of 24:34. Claire Scibelli took ninth in 26:31 and Alexandra Doig finished 11th in 28:19.

Forks’ Madelyn Archibald won the race in 21:36. There were only 13 girls in the race and no team had enough runners to earn a team score.

Tenino will race again next Thursday at the 1A/2A District 4 Championships at Lewis River Golf Course in Woodland.
