A 36-year-old Rainier man died on Interstate 5 Tuesday night after crashing his motorcycle and getting struck by three different passing vehicles.

The man was driving a black 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle just after 11 p.m. when he got onto I-5 northbound from 93rd Avenue.

The motorcycle crossed all lanes of the interstate, left the roadway and came to a rest on the left shoulder. The man came to rest in lane two where he was struck by the three passing vehicles, according to Washington State Patrol.

The man’s name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The road was blocked for more than three hours and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
