Saturday, March 30

•Mat Yoga is held 10:30  a.m. on Saturdays at the Yelm Timberland Library. Wear comfortable clothing, bring your mat and be ready to stretch in this floor yoga program.

•Tahoma valley golf course presents a golf tournament at noon at the golf course. The event is for the organization’s chef who just found out he has stage four testicular cancer. There will be food, drinks and prizes. The tournament is $65 per person, which includes lunch, cart, golf and contests. Register in the pro shop. He’s 31 and has a 7-year-old son. Help us help Jerry fight this. Any donations are greatly appreciated. 

•Restorative Yoga is held at noon on Saturdays at the Yelm Timberland Library. Restorative Yoga involves holding a reclining or sitting pose for 5 to 10 minutes to allow deep relaxation. Props are used to support the body. For example, a folded blanket or bolster on the legs will support the torso in a seated forward fold. Each participant needs to bring a mat, a yoga block, and a blanket. Additional blocks, blanket and bolsters will allow for deeper relaxation, but are not essential.

Monday, April 1

•TOPS of Yelm meets Mondays from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Yelm Prairie Christian Center, 501 103rd Ave. Attendees are 7 years old to senior citizens. Explore a neon galaxy in your very own battleship. Deep space in a dangerous place, but you don’t have to face it alone. No registration necessary.

•Friends of Yelm Library will hold its monthly first-Saturday book/dvd/cd sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Yelm Library. Featured this month are mysteries/thrillers. Proceeds support library programs. Sponsored by Friends of Yelm Library volunteers, who also welcome visitors to their monthly meeting at 11 a.m. on the first Saturday of the month at the library.

•The Davis Family Fundraiser, auction event, will occur from 5-8 p.m. at Yelm Eagles on 11609 Koeppen Road S.E. Local girl Jordyn Davis needs a surgery for a rare condition, so the auction will help pay for trips to and from Chicago, the only place to get her needed surgery for chronic pain and nausea. The condition is called celiac artery compression, caused by Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome.

All participants are encouraged to lend their energies to the healing process.
