Yelm Chamber Selling Shirts to Benefit Local Small Business Grants

Posted

Want to show off your love for your hometown while also supporting small businesses?

Try buying a shirt.

A new line of apparel offered through D Zines Creative Solutions will benefit the Yelm Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Economic Recovery Task Force (BERT) and associated small business grants.

T-shirts and pullover hoodies can be purchased online at www.yelmify.com.

D Zines owner and founder Dan Nicholson, also president elect of the chamber’s board of directors, said 100 percent of the proceeds will go to benefit BERT and its programs.

“Just anything to help small business right now. With everything going on, we’ve all got to do our part. Small business is my life and I’m willing to do whatever to help anybody,” said Nicholson, who collaborated on the designs and idea with chamber Executive Director Line Critchfield. “We’re pretty excited about it.”

He said they also plan on adding some additional designs soon.

Critchfield said she’s excited for the collaboration, noting that the designs surround a common theme: Yelm is going to get through anything that is thrown at it.

“I’m just really excited to see the T-shirts out in the community and seeing everyone wear their city with pride,” Critchfield said.

Those with a giving heart can also purchase appreciation certificates that also help with local business grants. The certificates cost $100, with $95 going to funding grants. To purchase a certificate, reach out to the Yelm Chamber on Facebook or email them at director@yelmchamber.com.

If you’re a business owner in need due to the COVID-19 outbreak and associated restrictions, visit www.yelmchamber.com/yelm-chamber-offers-grant-to-businesses/ to fill out an application for grant funding.
