After a weeks-long search, the Yelm Chamber of Commerce hired Tina Richardson as its next executive director. Richardson replaces Amanda Muñoz, who stepped down last month after more than a year of service.

Richardson’s first day was Monday, April 8, when she attended the Nisqually Valley BBQ Committee meeting. According to Yelm Chamber of Commerce President-elect Jennifer Ferguson, Richardson has long ties to Yelm as a Yelm High School graduate, and she is returning to the city from Tennessee.

“She’s got a passion for community and relationship building. She’s been working for nonprofits for the last 10 years, at least,” Ferguson said of the nonprofit organization’s newest executive director. “We want someone who has that drive to build membership and to bring in revenue. We’re super happy to have her and have someone leading the organization again, or at least someone who is the face of the organization again.”

According to Richardson’s Facebook profile, she studied at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, and previously served as a pastor at Living Word Church and as a digital marketing coordinator and graphic designer at Pathway Press.
