Woman From Yelm Dies in Fatal Traffic Collision in Roy

A 30-year-old woman from Yelm was pronounced dead at the scene of a fatal traffic collision on state Route 507 in Roy on Wednesday, Feb. 1.

According to a Washington State Patrol memo, the woman, who was later identified as Ariel G. Meyer, was traveling northbound on state Route 507 at around 6:10 a.m. when the 2005 Hyundai Sonata she was driving collided with a 2014 Ram ProMaster in the southbound lane.

Larry L. Kleindl, the driver of the Ram, was injured, according to WSP. The 79-year-old man from Spanaway was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital.



Both parties were wearing their seatbelts, according to WSP. Drugs or alcohol were not involved in the collision. The cause of the accident is pending investigation, according to WSP.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene.

The roadway was closed for four hours.
