A Vancouver man accused of raping a 14-year-old in Mossyrock has pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and will serve 20 months in jail and an additional 36 months in community custody.

Haydn Matthew Gerard Wurzer, 19, was initially charged with third-degree rape of a child in March for a January incident during which he had sex with the victim after she reportedly snuck him into her home, according to the affidavit of probable cause. In his plea, Wurzer stated that “he had sexual intercourse with (the victim), who was incapable of complete consent.” The incident was initially reported to the Longview Police Department, which turned the case over to the Mossyrock Police Department.

Wurzer was summoned to court and remained out of custody until he entered a guilty plea on April 14, at which time he was booked into the Lewis County Jail. He was sentenced in Lewis County Superior Court on May 12.

In addition to standard community custody conditions, Wurzer will be required to undergo a sexual deviancy evaluation and will not be allowed contact with minors.
