A Dodge Ram truck crashed in front of the Yelm High School entrance on Tuesday, Jan. 31, taking down several trees, two lamp posts and a sign. No one was injured, and the driver was not impaired, according to Yelm police.
The truck was traveling west down West Yelm Avenue when it veered off the roadway. It suffered significant damage to its front and lost the mirror on the passenger side, as well as sustained damage near the third brake light. The rear window was smashed and the windshield was damaged. Police removed the trees and light posts from the crash site so as to not obstruct the road. The right lane in front of the school was temporarily closed.
