Thyra Piper was born on Sept. 28, 1937, and died on July 1, 2015.
After a fierce battle with cancer, Thyra died at her home in Yelm, Washington. She remained brave and iron-willed throughout her battle.
She was a graduate of Merrill High School in Merrill, Wisconsin. She lived an extraordinary life as a nurse, horse rider, camper, chef, carpenter, artist, pilot, wife and mother to all she knew. She leaves behind her husband, David Piper; her son, Nathan (Mindy) Andrews; her daughter, Nyca (Cliff) Lockey; her daughter, Tiare (Edward) Raymond; her daughter, Maiya (Jock) Andrews; her grandson, Jacob (Theresa) Lockey; and her grandson, Andy (Anna) Lockey.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lechner and Dr. Jump for their caring approach to helping her achieve her goals of having a quality life and enjoying as many camping trips between treatments as possible over the past eight years.
