The Thurston County Board of Commissioners will host three public hearings on Wednesday, Nov. 12, at 3:30 p.m. to receive public testimony on two applicant-initiated rezone proposals that would amend the county’s comprehensive plan, and on the annual permit review process code update.

This applicant-initiated rezone is on the 2024-25 comprehensive plan docket as item CPA-23, Martin Way Land Use Amendment and Rezone. It would rezone 7.1 acres of an 8.17-acre split-zoned parcel at 7809 Martin Way E from Low Density (LD) to Mixed-Use High-Density Corridor (MHDC). The front portion of the site is currently zoned MHDC while most of the site is zoned LD which allows for zero to six dwellings per acre.
