‘The Wall That Heals’: Nation’s largest Vietnam Veterans Memorial replica arrives in Thurston County

The City of Lacey welcomed “The Wall That Heals,” the nation’s largest replica of the Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial in Washington, D.C., on Tuesday, June 23.

The Wall That Heals travels around the country to bring healing and honor to communities, families, and other veterans.

Volunteers helped set up the wall at Chambers Prairie Elementary School, located at 6501 Virginia Street Southeast in Lacey on Wednesday, June 24, ahead of its official opening at 2 p.m. that day.

The wall is open 24 hours a day through the morning of Sunday, June 28, and will be host to public tours, community events and several ceremonies throughout its stay.

A closing ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, before volunteers help break down the wall and send it off to its next destination.
