Tenino police arrest two for robbery Sunday

Two males were arrested in Tenino Sunday afternoon for robbery and burglary, according to the Tenino Police Department.

One male was an adult who was booked into the Thurston County Jail, while the other was a juvenile who was booked at the Thurston County Juvenile Detention Center. The juvenile was a reported runaway from Seattle, the police stated.

A local citizen reported to police at about 3:30 p.m. that two males grabbed her and tried to take her vehicle keys at the Short Stop located at 319 Wichman St. S. The victim also saw a gun on one of the males, according to the police department.

The males were seen running toward Morningside Drive on McClellan Street South. A perimeter was created with the help of Thurston County Sheriff’s Office to prevent the escape of the two suspects and an Olympia Police Department K9 assisted with the search. Drones from the sheriff’s office were also used.

The two males were found breaking through a fence of a residence on McClellan Street, and both were taken into custody. A pellet gun was also recovered for evidence, according to Tenino police.
