A 33-year-old man from Tenino was injured in a motorcycle accident and transported to Harborview Medical Center on June 24.
Bryan A. Fleury was traveling northbound on state Route 101 just south of Mudbay Road Northwest when he attempted to pass a 2001 Chevy Tahoe driven by Allen S. Ainsworth, 59, of Ocean Shores, stated a memo from the Washington State Patrol.
Fleury struck the vehicle driven by Ainsworth and left the roadway to the right, coming to rest in a ditch, while the Tahoe came to rest on the right shoulder.
Fleury was wearing a helmet, according to WSP. He was transported to the Seattle-based hospital and his motorcycle was totaled. The driver of the vehicle was not injured and was wearing a seatbelt.
WSP determined the cause of the accident was an unsafe lane change. It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved, WSP stated.
The accident, which was reported just after 10:30 p.m. on June 24 blocked the right lane for two hours and 59 minutes.
