Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland’s annual Valentines for Veterans and First Responders drive is returning with a new addition.

Valentines will be distributed to veterans and first responders in Washington’s 10th Congressional District, and, for the first time, to Joint-Base Lewis McChord servicemembers deployed to Korea.

“Our annual Valentines for Veterans demonstrates how the South Sound comes together to support our veterans, first responders, and active duty servicemembers,” Strickland said in a news release. “Thank you to those who made Valentines last year and to those who are making Valentines this year so we can spread goodwill to our friends and neighbors — and those deployed overseas.”

Residents can leave cards at drop boxes at Yelm, Lacey, Lakewood, Olympia and Puyallup city halls. Yelm City Hall, 106 Second St. SE, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and residents can drop off Valentines in the labeled box in the lobby.
