Roy Police conducts traffic safety emphasis results in 111 infractions

The City of Roy partnered with surrounding police departments for a traffic safety emphasis control between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26. The emphasis recognized speeding, particularly in a school zone, and resulted in 129 contacts made, including both citations and warnings, according to Roy PD.

Roy police issued a total of 111 citations, which included for speeding, lack of seatbelt usage and a child car seat infraction. Additionally, citations were written for instances of individuals driving on suspended licenses.



The Roy PD, which partnered with police from Puyallup, Lakewood, Ruston and Orting, received a grant that covered the traffic emphasis and all of the officers who participated in the event.
