Ridgeline Middle School went into a lockdown on Monday, June 13 after law enforcement received a 911 call about a possible weapon on campus.

The Yelm Police Department directed the lockdown and searched the building after the call that came in at approximately 8:36 a.m., stated a social media post from Yelm Community Schools.

The modified lockdown was lifted at 9:04 a.m., and the school resumed normal operations, after the 911 call was determined to be a hoax.

Law enforcement is investigating the source of the false 911 call, stated the post.

“We appreciate the patience of our families as we worked swiftly to secure the building and ensure the safety of our students and staff,” stated the post.
