The Mountaineers had one finalist and two others rebound from opening match setbacks to all place in the top-three at Saturday’s Rogers Holiday Tournament in Puyallup. Chloe Willis was the runner-up at 190-pounds while Dakota Gardner (110) and Gracie Lantz (235) both took third.

Willis recorded two pins before getting pinned in the finals to Timberline’s Annalisa Tapasa in the first period. It’s the third different C2BL wrestler Tapasa has faced so far.

Gardner recorded a pin and an 8-2 decision in her two backside bracket bouts while Lantz got the only takedown in the consolation semis before pinning her opponent in the third place match.

Rainier tallied 39 points on the day to place eighth in the team race.
