The American Heart Association has recognized 54 hospitals in Washington for being among the more than 4,800 nationwide participating in quality improvement efforts for heart disease and stroke care.
On the list are Providence Centralia Hospital, Providence St. Peter Hospital and MultiCare Capital Medical Center,
“Every 40 seconds, someone in America has a stroke or heart attack,” said Susie Woo, cardiologist and board president of American Heart Association Washington. “High-quality care should be accessible to all and sites awarded through the Get With The Guidelines program help work toward our shared vision of health and hope for everyone, everywhere. Congratulations to these teams for their hard work and commitment to improving patient care in Washington.”
Participation in the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines programs is associated with improved patient outcomes, fewer readmissions and lower mortality rates from heart disease and strokes, according to a news release.
