Nisqually Markets, an enterprise of the Nisqually Indian Tribe and managed by Medicine Creek Enterprise Corporation (MCEC), will hold a grand opening celebration on Friday, Feb. 3 for its new Camas Plaza location.

Camas Plaza is located at 4031 Camas Plaza SE, at the roundabout between state Route 510 and Yelm Highway, between Lacey and Yelm, stated a news release.

The location, which saw a soft opening on Jan. 25, will house the new Nisqually Markets convenience store, Shell fueling services and a sit-down coffee shop called Camas Coffee House.

“This has been a project that could not have happened without the support of the Nisqually Tribal Council, MCEC board members, MCEC, Nisqually Construction as well as many other members of the team,” stated Nisqually Markets General Manager Charie Coulliette in the release. “We are excited to open and showcase the new location.”

The festivities will kick off at 10 a.m., with 99-cent per gallon gas available until 2 p.m., while supplies last. There will be a 15-gallon limit per vehicle for the promotion.

As people are filling up their tanks, local radio station 96.9 KAYO will run a remote live broadcast of the event. Participants will be able to enter to win several raffles and prizes sponsored by the Nisqually Red Wind Casino. Customers will also receive casino swag giveaways just for participating in the event, stated the release.

Nisqually Markets expects a large turnout, so to get in the queuing line for the discounted fuel, participants must follow local law enforcement’s direction, which will have people start lining up across the street from the Nisqually Red Wind Casino, stated the release. Participants should follow the signs and directional indications for the easiest access.

“MCEC is honored to offer another location to its growing business portfolio,” stated the release.

The addition of Camas Plaza goes further than to boost the corporation’s bottom line, said MCEC Director of Business Development Tony Liberal.

“Camas Plaza is an endeavor built from the ground up with the community in mind,” Liberal said. “The new Camas Coffee House has a free conference room that community groups can use for gatherings, the convenience store will have fresh food with an area to dine in, and our fueling services will ensure that folks can have access to affordable transportation for their families at the most competitive fuel prices around.”
