Trailing by two after one quarter, the Rainier girls basketball team flipped the switch and outscored Toledo, 36-10 through the final three frames to win, 43-19, Friday night in Toledo.
They were rough for us,” Riverhawks coach Randy Wood said of the last three quarters.
“(Angelica) Askey got loose in the third, she had eight in the third alone. We had done a pretty good job with her in the first, but she really separated in the second half.”
Askey finished with a game-high 15 points, and Brooklynn Swenson added eight points in the win. Ryah Stanley led the Riverhawks with 12 points.
Toledo takes on Naselle at 4 p.m. on Saturday while Rainier plays Tenino on Tuesday.
