Yelm Mayor Joe DePinto met with Bellevue Mayor Lynne Robinson at Bellevue City Hall on Wednesday, Dec. 20 to pay off his bet from their friendly wager on the 3A state championship game. After Bellevue defeated Yelm, 14-0, on Dec. 1 to win the state title, DePinto brought Robinson a trio of meats from Stewart’s Meat Market: teriyaki beef jerky, buffalo pepperoni and old-fashioned franks. Aside from the football game, the two mayors discussed emerging issues facing their communities and projects they’re working on, DePinto wrote in a Facebook post.

“[Robinson] was a humble winner, and I’m hoping to continue this fun tradition we’ve been doing these past two years, but next year she’s coming to Yelm,” he wrote.
