Looking to Shop Local on Black Friday Weekend? Tenino Holiday Market to Include 30 Vendors, Live Music and More

Posted

Christmas shopping is already on the minds of many and when Black Friday arrives this week, shoppers will be off to the races.

For those looking to support small businesses while fulfilling their Christmas shopping lists, the third annual Tenino Holiday Market may just be the spot for you.

Thirty small businesses and local artisans will have booths set up in The Kodiak Room, located at 225 Sussex Ave. W. in downtown Tenino. The market will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving.

Unlike most holiday markets and bazaars, the Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce is running the event and will operate central cashier checkout stations. Business owners and artisans will not be present, allowing shoppers more space and the ability to browse booths at their leisure.

Additionally, shoppers are invited to bring non-perishable food donations as the Tenino Food Bank Plus will have a collection container there.

“We are excited to have the Tenino Holiday Market again this year as it brings so many visitors to Tenino to experience our community and creative district. It has been a wonderful kickoff to the holiday season the past two years and many of our businesses benefit from the additional shoppers,” stated Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce President Cheryl Pearce in a news release.

Aside from shopping, live entertainment will be provided for visitors, including performances by Olympia guitarist and singer Ross Robinson and singer Cal Judah as well as caroling performed by the Tenino Young-at-Heart Theatre.

As for the vendors and artisans, the lineup includes: A Spirit Within, ArborNight, Ardour Sisterz Candle Company, Auntie’s Arts, Hatchet Job Carvings, Hummingbirds Haven Handcrafted Bath & Body Products, Karmakee Farm, Kim L Designs, Kristin’s Jewelry Designs, Lakeside Photography, Lunar Art Paintings, Mad on the Puget Sound by Melissa Johnson, Of Water, Wind and Woods, Pan’s Garden, Paulie Rollins, Pink Polish Designs, PJE Woodworks, Puyallup Leather, Rachel’s Creations, Rashel’s Roots and Wings, Ridley Galleries, Rusting Day Dreams, Sackuly, Seco Ranch, StarHaven Company, Sweet Little Things Bakery, Sweet Oak Craft Company, The Fancy Accent Tea Company, Wild Heart Sipping Vinegar and the Wishing Willow Farm.

“We have diligently worked hard to recruit a nice mix of quality handmade products by some of the area’s most talented artisans,” stated Donna Taylor Mayo, the Tenino Holiday Market co-chair and artisan coordinator, in the release.
