Letter to the Editor: Decades-Old Power Grid Infrastructure Needs to Be Revolutionized

Posted

As one of the households impacted by rumored power station vandalism, I think it’s long past time for us to face the unpleasant facts that our decades-old power grid infrastructure needs to be completely revolutionized.

Like school shootings, now that power grid attacks are making the news, they will surely only increase in number and damage.

We can talk all we want about green energy, sustainable energy — important goals — but at the end of the day if power cannot be reliably delivered to the customers, the systems have failed.

And as usual, the wealthy and privileged will be able to invest in off-grid solutions while the rest of us will likely struggle every time the grid goes down.
