In Loving Memory of Roy Moline: 1944-2022

Posted

Roy Moline, 78, of Roy, Washington, passed away on Oct. 24, 2022, surrounded by his wife and daughters.

He was preceded in death by his father (Eugene), mother (Gladys), brother (Jack) and daughter (Jenell).

He is survived by his wife of 57 years (Carol), his daughters (Joyce, Jeanne, Jodie, Julie), his brother (Melvin) and sister (Hope).

He was abundantly proud of his girls and referred to them as his “jewels.” He patiently gave of himself with unconditional love and guidance. He taught his girls the value of family and the “sisu” to face life’s adversities. He was a wonderful and kind father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

His love of baseball was apparent through the generous amount of time he gave coaching and mentoring all of his girls’ softball teams. He loved watching Mariners baseball and Seahawks football games.

He served his community as a volunteer fireman for over 20 years in the Roy Fire Department, participated in the city council and was elected to serve as mayor. He also volunteered in the United States Army Reserves. He was a dedicated public transit operator for Pierce Transit and retired in 2006 so he could enjoy spending more time relaxing at the beach where digging razor clams or sitting by the fire pit with family was a regular event for many years.

A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Dec. 3 at Roy Grange Hall, 102 Water St., Roy, Washington, 98580.
