In Focus: Racing Caskets in ‘Boo-Coda’

Posted

Teams raced down East Seventh Street during the Boo-coda Pine Box Derby Casket Races on Saturday, Oct. 1.

Six teams competed in the event where participants looked to clock the fastest time. It’s part of the Boo-Coda Spook-Tacular, an annual series of events that takes place throughout the month of October when the Thurston County town of Bucoda celebrates Halloween.

Sticklin Funeral Home took first place in the casket races with Joe’s Place coming in second. Third place went to The Chronicle’s DEADline News Team.  Dinosaur Cheese received the coveted “dead last” trophy.
