Honey D. Badger died peacefully Friday, June 4, 2021, at home in Rainier, Wash.
Honey was born Christmas day December 25, 1944, in Shelton, Wash., to Charles and Zuella (Sue) Payne. Her dad, Charlie, returned to the states from deployment because the submarine Nautilus was due in New Hampshire for an overhaul. While there, Honey met Glenn C. Badger Sr. and the two eventually married.
They went on to have four children: Glenn Jr., David, Laura and Alesha. Glenn and Honey were married 59 years and always looked out for one another. Honey was a friend to all. As a homemaker she raised four children, worked in foster care, was a 4-H scout leader, bred and sold Westies, maintained a beautiful garden, managed her farm (goats, cows, chickens, etc.) and always enjoyed volunteering at our local food bank.
She loved big hugs and always got a kick out of a good prank! She is truly missed.
Honey was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Zuella Payne and sister, Ruthie. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Badger Sr.; four children, Glenn Jr. (Linda) Badger, David (Jana) Badger, Laura Badger and Alesha (Ed) Hoover; two sisters, Lois Ihlen and Charlie Six; 11 grandchildren and several great-grands.
There will be a celebration of life for Honey at her Badger Farms home, 12831 Hubbard St. SE in Rainier, Wash., on Saturday, July 10, 2021, at 3 p.m.
All who wish to share in her memory are welcome.
