History talks continue at the Schmidt House, with December’s talk scheduled for noon on Dec. 4.

The free hour-long talk will feature a discussion of the book “The Ravaged Forest: A Native Woman’s Journey to Justice.”

Local historian and author Sandra Crowell will lead the discussion. She will describe her recently published biography of Helen Sanders, a Native American woman grappling with the injustices surrounding land ownership and rights.

Sanders’ journey reveals the deep connections to her heritage and the struggles of her family. She became an activist, advocating for her community’s rights in landmark legal battles.
