First ever Worthy Coffee Co ‘Saturday Market’ welcomes 20 vendors to successful event

With an intention of connecting the community through coffee, friendship and monthly activities, Worthy Coffee Co. did just that on Saturday, Aug. 23, in its first ever Saturday Market, which welcomed 20 vendors and plenty of attendees.

Brandi Worthy, Worthy Coffee Co. owner, said the heatwave over the weekend brought multiple attendees of the event to cool off with iced coffee or ice cream. Despite the hot weather, she believes the first annual outdoor Saturday Market was a success.

“The market went really good, although I think it was a little too hot for some people to come out. We had 20 vendors, live music and our Darla Sue making some pizza out of her homemade sourdough crust. We love seeing people be brought together. That’s what we do at Worthy,” she said. “Everybody loved it. It was hot, but they came inside for ice cream and to enjoy the atmosphere. They were able to shop the local vendors with their family and friends. Some people did it as a date night. Some people did it to hang out. It will be back next August.”

Worthy hopes to add the Saturday Market to the business’s yearly calendar, along with numerous other events the local coffee shop offers throughout the year. She said this specific event will return in August 2026.

“This was our first event for the outdoors. We plan on doing it every summer. We just didn’t get a chance to do it last year,” Worthy said. “We’re always trying to think of doing new things to bring the community together, and this was one of them. We hope it keeps getting bigger and better.”

She noted that of the 20 vendors attending the first annual Saturday Market, roughly 80% of them were local from the Nisqually Valley Region. The remaining 20%, according to Worthy, came from the Bonney Lake, Lacey and Olympia areas.

Next year, Worthy hopes to welcome more vendors to the outdoor event and would like to schedule a lineup of different live events outside the coffee shop. Additionally, she’d like to bring in a couple more food vendors for attendees to enjoy.

“We’ll be adding on to it, definitely,” Worthy said. “That was our last hurrah for the summertime season. Now, we’re trying to get into the swing of being in a routine for school time. There will be some fun back-to-school specials happening. We also have our live worship events happening once a month, and some fun date nights too.”

“At Worthy, we love preparing an atmosphere for people to gather. That’s what we’re here for,” Worthy said.
