Family of Missing Man Seeks Answers at Council Meeting

Megan Barker took to the podium during the public comment portion of the Yelm City Council meeting on April 25 to bring awareness to the case of a missing man.

Eric Wells has been missing since February. Barker said Wells was last seen in McKenna, when his white four-door Mercedes Benz had a flat tire.

“We’ve gotten word that maybe something not-so-great has happened to him, and so we’re concerned about him and the rest of our homeless. … I’m here to ask if we can spread the word for the safety of our homeless,” Wells said.

Barker said Wells was originally from Tacoma before he ended up in the greater Yelm area.

According to Barker, Wells’ phone was discovered in McKenna on Feb. 16. Some of his friends told her that Wells was supposed to return to his vehicle to get repairs to the tire, but Barker said Wells never returned.

Some of Wells’ other aliases include “E,” Earl Downs or Jonathon Granger.

“We don’t know if someone stopped and something foul happened to him,” Barker said. “The Mercedes hasn’t been seen since either.”

Flyers will be spread throughout the community, according to Barker.

Anyone with the information about the whereabouts of Wells can call 253-921-1852.
