After the conclusion of the 2026 high school spring season — which saw Yelm High School’s baseball team finish its year with a record of 12-11 (11-6 in the SPSL) and the YHS softball program finish with an 11-11 record (8-8 in the SPSL) — 14 athletes representing the school have earned all-SPSL status.
Baseball
Parker Myers, senior middle infielder on the YHS baseball team, was the lone first team all-SPSL selection on the boys side. He earned that honor after finishing his senior season with a batting average of .426, 15 runs batted in (RBI), 13-for-13 in stolen base attempts and two home runs.
Three of his teammates earned second team all-SPSL status, including senior pitcher Jonah Smith — who wrapped up his final campaign with the Tornados by posting a 3.33 earned run average (ERA). Additionally, he pitched 36 innings and struck out 28 batters throughout the season.
Lincoln Ramirez, senior middle infielder, was also named to the second team all-SPSL after posting a .298 batting average and scoring 13 runs. Additionally, the senior posted an on-base percentage of .433 for the Tornados.
Freshman first baseman Owen Osso was the youngest YHS baseball player to earn all-SPSL honors, and one of two freshmen across the two sports to receive the accolade of second team all-SPSL. He posted a batting average of .314, collected nine RBIs and scored eight runs this spring.
Quinten Loomis, junior outfielder, also earned second team all-SPSL status and finished his campaign with a batting average of .286. Additionally, Loomis boasted a .432 on-base percentage and added 11 RBIs and eight runs to his season statline.
Three Tornados were also named as honorable mentions on the 2026 all-SPSL team, including the junior utility man Wyatt Kober, who batted .367, sophomore Logan Caudill, who posted an ERA of 2.33, and junior Max Gonzalez, who scored 12 runs last season.
