Cruisers Beat Out Beavers

The Tenino boys soccer team found some offense but could never get in front Wednesday, falling 3-2 at Eatonville.

“We felt really in control, kept pressure on super hard,” Tenino coach Trevor Fetbrandt said. “They scored on a couple of lapses, moments where they broke through because we weren’t organized.”

The Cruisers scored the only goal of the first half in the 13th minute. Out of the break, the Beavers evened things up, with Max Craig feeding Tyler Minerich to make it 1-1 in the 57th minute, but less than 60 seconds later, Eatonville scored again to take its lead right back.

The hosts stretched their lead to two goals in the 71st, and while Craig scored off of a throw-in in the 79th, it ended up being too little, too late.

Brock Maurer came away with 10 saves for the Beavers.

Tenino is set to face Hoquiam, back at home Friday.
