Carolyn Long, a Democrat from Vancouver seeking to unseat U.S. Rep Jaime Herrera Beutler in the 3rd Congressional District, will pay a special visit Friday, Feb. 21, to Nisqually Valley residents at the Bald Hills Fire Station.
The event, which is being hosted at 3 p.m., was set up by Yelm blogger Steve Klein, who has sponsored public forums with Democratic candidates since 2006.
“I invite you to join this coffee chat and listen to issues expressed from area voters, as well ask Ms. Long questions, too,” Klein wrote in an email to the Nisqually Valley News.
Long gave Herrera Beutler a run for her money back in the 2018 general election, garnering 47.3 percent of the vote.
The Washington State University-Vancouver political science professor has since gathered more than $1 million in the leadup to her rematch against Herrera Beutler, The Seattle Times reported earlier this month.
