Yelm Farmers Market opening day
The Yelm Farmers Market will celebrate its opening day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, at 206 McKenzie Ave. A vendors list will soon be released on the market’s self-titled Facebook page, which you can follow for updates and information about the Saturday-based activities.

Eagle View Christian School auction dinner
Eagle View Christian School will host an auction dinner at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 at 13036 Morris Rd. SE. The event will include a dinner, catered by Steele Barrel Barbecue, along with live and silent auctions, a dessert dash and more. Tickets cost $30 individually, $150 for a table of six, or $210 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased online at https://tinyurl.com/EVauction1

City of Yelm Galaxy Fest
The City of Yelm invites residents of the region to attend the free Galaxy Fest event from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, May 9, at the Yelm Community Center, located at 301 2nd St. SE. The event will present space-themed activities to participating children.

Saturday, May 18
City of Yelm Spring Cleanup
The City of Yelm will be hosting its spring cleanup day from 8 a.m. until dumpsters are full on Saturday, May 16, at Yelm Public Works, located at 901 Rhoton Rd. NW. Yelm residents will be invited to bring large, non-hazardous household items for proper disposal. It’s free for residents with the 98597 zip code, and proof of residency is required. No hazardous materials are allowed, including items like paint, tires or electronics. No household garbage will be accepted either. Items that will be accepted include disposables that may not fit in your regular trash bin. Senior citizens or disabled residents may schedule an at-home pickup time by calling Yelm Public Works at 360-458-8406.

Monday, May 25
City of Yelm Memorial Day ceremony
The City of Yelm will honor its veterans who paid the ultimate sacrifice through service with a Memorial Day ceremony at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 25, at Yelm City Park, located at 108 SE McKenzie Ave. The community-based event will include a presentation of colors, a wreath laying ceremony and a moment of reflection to recognize those who gave their lives for our freedom.

Movies in the Park: Encanto



The annual Yelm Lions Club tradition of Movies in the Park will return to Longmire Park this summer, with its first rendition set to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The movie being shown that evening will be Encanto. The event is free, and the movie itself will begin at dusk.

Saturday, July 11
Movies in the Park: The Sandlot
The annual Yelm Lions Club tradition of Movies in the Park will return to Longmire Park this summer, with its second rendition set to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The movie being shown that evening will be The Sandlot. The event is free, and the movie itself will begin at dusk.

Movies in the Park: The Princess Bride
The annual Yelm Lions Club tradition of Movies in the Park will return to Longmire Park this summer, with its third rendition set to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 25. The movie being shown that evening will be The Princess Bride. The event is free, and the movie itself will begin at dusk.

Saturday, Aug. 8
Movies in the Park: Ratatouille
The annual Yelm Lions Club tradition of Movies in the Park will return to Longmire Park this summer, with its fourth rendition set to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27. The movie being shown that evening will be Ratatouille. The event is free, and the movie itself will begin at dusk.

Movies in the Park: How to Train Your Dragon
The annual Yelm Lions Club tradition of Movies in the Park will return to Longmire Park this summer, with its first rendition set to begin at 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 27.
