Caddy Shack Bar & Grill offers all-American menu at Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club

A new bar and grill opened this week at the Tahoma Valley Golf & Country Club on Mosman Avenue in Yelm.

Caddy Shack Bar & Grill offers burgers, sandwiches, salads, seafood baskets, hot dogs, appetizers, beer, a full bar and happy hour specials.

Prices range from $5 to $15, and diners are able to eat and drink in the restaurant or on the outdoor patio which boasts a wide view of the golf course.

Golfers can order from a beverage cart from Caddy Shack that travels out to the greens. The cart will serve all beverages, hot dogs and candy.

Owner Tom Binde said Caddy Shack will have a “sports bar vibe and atmosphere.”

This will be the latest business to open at the golf course, as the last one closed down in December.

Binde said he was approached by the owners of the golf course and was asked if he was interested in reopening the restaurant.

“I had owned a restaurant before and decided it was time to get back into the bar business,” Binde said.

Bartender Janise Lerum said she is excited a restaurant offering a variety of foods is opening in town.

“It’s somewhere new for people to go to instead of the same old thing,” she said.

Caddy Shack has hired four bartenders and two cooks.

Binde said the food is what sets Caddy Shack apart from the city’s other restaurants.

“We are one of the few places in Yelm with American, blue-collar foods,” Binde said.

The bar will play Seahawks and Mariners games on big screen TVs.

Binde said he will play basketball games “if the Sonics ever come back.”

A jukebox and pool tables add to the sports bar atmosphere.

Binde said he is working to add comedy nights and musical performances as entertainment in the near future.

“This is the only place on the golf course and we’re looking forward to letting everyone know we’re here,” he said.
