Beavers roar back against Eagles

The Tenino volleyball team got back into the win column Tuesday, going on the road and beating Elma 18-25, 25-21, 25-23, 25-20 in a 1A Evergreen League matchup.

“Elma did not make it easy on us tonight,” Tenino coach Shauna Carpenter said. “We had to work for it. The girls responded really well, I saw some great floor movement and communication.”

Brooke Bratton posted a triple-double with 15 kills, 23 digs and 10 assists while also putting down three aces to lead the Beavers (8-6, 3-3 1A Evergreen). Katen Burkhardt had 17 digs on defense, dished out 12 assists and added five kills.

Jaeleen Woodward had 18 digs and two aces, Brianna Asay had13 digs, four kills and two blocks and Macy Griffis had nine assists and eight digs, as well as a perfect night serving.

Tenino will get a week off and go into the final week of the regular season occupying the third spot in the 1A Evergreen standings. They’ll take on second-place Hoquiam on Tuesday, and wrap up with last-place Eatonville on Thursday.
