Beavers Drop Rematch With Seagulls

After beating Raymond in its first game of the season, the Tenino boys basketball team couldn’t repeat the feat in a 46-45 loss to the Seagulls in Pacific County Wednesday night.

It was a game of runs for both squads Wednesday night, where after a back-and-forth first half, the Seagulls jutted out to a 10-0 run to open the third quarter. Then the Beavers responded with a 21-3 run to close out the quarter and take a 38-32 lead heading into the final frame.

But after the Seagulls gathered some momentum, they stole away a home victory to even the season series between the non-league opponents at 1-1.

Noah Schow had 25 points, and no other Beaver scored in double figures. Schow also hauled in 10 boards for a double-double. The Beavers are still without a few pieces, and will look to get some reinforcements back when they take the floor next against Montesano to open league play after the New Year.
