The Tenino girls soccer team had a rough day on the road Tuesday, losing 8-0 to Elma in Grays Harbor County in a 1A Evergreen league battle.
“Whatever could have gone wrong tonight went wrong,” Tenino coach Dave Montgomery said. “It was just one of those games.”
Tenino keeper Dakota Lees made 11 saves for the Beavers (7-7-1, 1-5-0 1A Evergreen), who were outshot 20-1 on the day.
The Eagles led 2-0 at halftime, but ballooned the advantage out with six more goals in the second half.
Still technically alive in the race for the postseason, the Beavers will try to snap a three-game skid at home Monday against Hoquiam.
