Assistant general manager of Thurston PUD is 2026 honoree for CFO of the Year Awards

Julie Parker, assistant general manager of Thurston Public Utility District (PUD), has been named a 2026 CFO of the Year honoree by Puget Sound Business Journal, an honor given to local leaders who stand out for their contributions as top financial stewards.

The recognition highlights her exceptional leadership, strategic vision and steadfast commitment to public service, according to a news release from the Thurston PUD.

Throughout her almost 20 years of tenure at Thurston PUD, Parker has demonstrated a remarkable ability to navigate complex financial landscapes while fostering transparency, accountability and long-term stability, the news release stated.



The Business Journal formally recognized Parker and other top regional financial leaders during an awards reception in Seattle on July 16.

Established in 1938, Thurston PUD is a special purpose municipal organization located in Lacey. The PUD currently owns and operates 271 water systems, serving a population of approximately 25,000 people, including families, businesses, schools and parks.

Thurston PUD provides water planning and utility services to the citizens of Thurston County and also operates water systems in Pierce, Lewis, King and Grays Harbor counties.
