The Thurston County Washington State University extension program is offering a multi-day intensive grazing school from April 21 to April 23 at the Skookumchuck Grange in Tenino. The school will run from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. all three days, according to a WSU news release.

Cattle, sheep, goat and horse owners are all invited to attend, as are technical service providers who support livestock producers like the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the conservation district and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employees.

The cost to attend is $300 per person, or for families and ranch teams, $300 for the first person and $200 for each subsequent person. The cost includes three meals per day.

Scholarships are available for veterans and others upon inquiry.

Those who attend will learn about a variety of grazing related subjects like evaluating biomass for planned grazing, designing grazing cells for targeted stocking rate and density, assessing pasture health and improving soil.
