The Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce and Tenino Arts will hold the sixth annual Tenino Holiday Market Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Nov. 28, 29, and 30 in The Kodiak Room, located at 225 Sussex Ave. SW in Tenino, a news release stated.
The market is free to attend and will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This year’s market will feature 40 regional artisans and their handcrafted products including fine jewelry, pottery, woodwork, leather belts, glass art, photography, fiber art, and specialty food products. There will be live music all three days, including a performance by ShamRock Celtic band on Saturday, featuring guitar, fiddle, dulcimer, flute, and whistle.
The Tenino Holiday Market is unique in its retail store setup. Keeping with the format established during its founding in 2020, artisans will not be on-site at individual booths. Instead, all products will be displayed, and purchases will be made at a single, central location managed by cashiers from the Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and volunteers.
The market, which originally ran for six weekends, has grown into a major community asset, according to the release. Over the past five years, the annual Holiday Market and a Spring Market have collectively generated more than $400,000 in sales and attracted thousands of visitors to the Tenino Creative District.
“We have diligently worked hard to recruit a nice mix of quality handmade products by some of the area's most talented artisans. We are excited to have 11 new artists this year, including items from Simply Organic Café and Colvin Ranch Provisions at the Tenino Agriculture Innovation Park,” Market Co-Chair Jenny Hall said in a release.
"We are thrilled to have the Tenino Holiday Market again this year as it brings many visitors to Tenino to experience our community and Creative District. It has been a wonderful kickoff to the holiday season the past five years, and many of our businesses benefit from additional shoppers,” Cheryl Pearce, Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce president, added.
