62nd Annual Roy Rodeo Set for the Weekend

Posted

The Roy Rodeo, which is scheduled for June 3 and June 4, will offer a thrilling spectacle for those who attend as the popular event returns for its 62nd annual iteration.

The event will feature classic rodeo events like bull and bronc riding, breakaway roping, barrel racing, steer wrestling and more. People can also expect to see bareback riding, cow milking and team roping.

Gates to the rodeo will open at noon and the event will officially begin at 1:30 p.m. Ticket sales take place exclusively at the gate, where both cash and card payments are accepted. Event organizers noted that card purchases will incur an additional fee, and are applicable to tickets, concessions, souvenirs and the beer garden.

An exclusive military discount is also available for service members and their spouses.

Access to the beer garden is limited to those who are 21 years of age and older. Outside of the designated area, consumption of alcohol within the rodeo grounds is prohibited.

Event organizers also asked attendees to leave their pets at home. Only service animals are allowed in accordance with Washington state laws. Emotional support animals are not recognized as service animals and should remain at home.

Event organizers added it’s important to plan restroom breaks accordingly, since bathrooms are only available within the gated area.

Participants interested in the military bull riding event can sign up at the rodeo office on the morning of the event, starting at 9 a.m. It’s important to note that once the show begins, registrations for the event will no longer be accepted.

The Roy Rodeo staff consists entirely of volunteers who dedicate their time because of their passion for rodeo. Attendees are asked to treat the staff with respect and appreciation.

The Roy Rodeo is located at 8710 Higgins Greig Road in Roy.
