After running the plate of a vehicle leaving a known drug area off Grove Road on April 22, a Yelm Police Officer found the registration was expired. The officer initiated a stop but the driver took off, leading them on a pursuit around several Yelm back streets and at one point were traveling at nearly 100 mph on 103rd Avenue. The officer lost sight of the vehicle around Walmart Boulevard, and additional officers arrived and canvassed the area without luck. The male driver of the vehicle matched the registered owner’s Department of Licensing photo, making a positive ID. The report was forwarded to the Thurston County Prosecutor for consideration of Eluding chargers against the driver.
