Kudos to Bob and Becky Lincoln of Yelm who, in the letters to the editor section of the Aug. 1 edition of this newspaper, opined that we need more articles in the paper about Jesus and “the values our country was founded on.”

I want to thank them for those sentiments.

Jesus hardly ever gets mentioned in this newspaper and I’m sure that their concerns about the lack of conversation about Jesus will be discussed from the pulpits of the 24 churches who put notices in the paper announcing their Sunday services to say nothing of the weekly columns by Pastor Jeff Adams and Pastor Sylvia Peterson.

Too much news in the newspaper, I say.

I must, however, protest the lack of any announcement for Jewish services which Jesus would surely attend. Don’t we want him in this community?

Thank you.

Larry Barkan
