From a young cancer survivor celebrating running a lap at this past summer’s Southeast Thurston Relay for Life event, to a visit to Yelm Community Schools by Gov. Jay Inslee, 2015 offered plenty of visual opportunities.

The photos reveal both the serious side of living in the Nisqually Valley — lawyers arguing before the state Supreme Court on Yelm’s water rights — and also the more whimsical such as a Yelm High School student driving a tractor through a fast-food drive-thru.

We hope you enjoy the photos and the local coverage the Nisqually Valley News brings you each year, and we wish all our readers a happy new year.
